Ankuram, founded in 1994, adopts a rights-based approach to create safe and empowering spaces for children and women facing socioeconomic marginalization. Sankalpam, a shelter home for young girls vulnerable to gender-based violence and trafficking, was established by Ankuram in 1999 and provides counseling, healthcare and education for about 30 girls. Ankuram has successfully rehabilitated and reintegrated over 700 children.
