History

Emmaus started as a small ministry in Chicago 30 years ago. It started as one man speaking and forming relationships with male prostitutes in the neighborhood. It evolved into a tight-knit community that provided street outreach and daily meals to men in the sex trade. Today, we have a drop in space with laundry, kitchen, showers, food pantry, clothing closet, and we offer case management and support groups throughout the week to men and male identifying folks who are survivors or currently experiencing commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking.

Mission

To support male survivors’ journey out of the sex trade into freedom and fullness of life, and to fight exploitation worldwide for all mankind.
