History

A group of activists, judges, scholars and lawyers founded Encourage the Human Development (EHD) in 2004. In 2007, EHD established legal aid centers and initiated legal advocacy campaigns. EHD opened its branch office in Muzafargarh in 2009, in Khanewal in 2010 and in Bahawalpur in 2011. They focus on labor, women and children's rights.

Mission

EHD fights for equality and respect for human dignity in Pakistan and around the world through the implementation of human rights and rule of law. Key areas of concerns include sustainable development, participatory governance and sustainable collective action for peace, human security and rule of law. EHD organizes and builds the capacity of marginalized comunities.
