August 23rd is International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition. Honor it by planning a trip to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, OH.

Swatantrata Abhiyan is a national non-governmental organization working on the area of freedom from slavery, deprivation, discrimination and fear. SAN was founded in 2013 with the main mission of movement and capacity building of NGOs/CSOs and research activities on the above-mentioned area.
SAN has been engaged on organizing and empowering adult domestic workers for a decent work movement, conducting policy advocacy and facilitating domestic workers to claim their rights. It is also working on the area of migrant workers, with a special focus on promoting inter NHRIs communication for protecting migrant workers, organizing returnees and recruitment reformation campaigns in Nepal. SAN has promoted Domestic Workers’ Forum, a forum of more than 300 domestic workers.
In addition to this, SAN is also engaged in campaigns against trafficking, child labor, road safety, right to education, health and cross boarder action.
SAN is a founding member of Indo-Nepal Child Protection Forum, Destination Unknown: Children on Move National Campaign, National Child Protection Alliance and Education Watch National Working Group.
