Volunteer Opportunities: Yes
Transforming Hope Ministries was founded on November 20, 2010 by our Director, Abbi Tenaglia. Having been through her own journey of exploitation (not commercial), abuse, addiction and finally restoration and freedom, she desires to equip those who have been commercially exploited through domestic human trafficking with the skills to avoid vulnerability to being re-exploited as well as to help them understand their true value only found through Christ, to experience true freedom in this life and beyond. We are a faith-based, para-church, public non-profit organization currently located in central North Carolina. Christ commanded us to "love others as ourselves" (Matthew 22:39). Every human being deserves unconditional, individual love. Each person deserves to truly be seen and embraced. Transforming Hope works to do this through the Holy Spirit's guidance and authority. Transforming Hope is founded on the belief that Christ came to give us life to live freely and "to the full" in Him (John 10:10). As individuals who have come to experience freedom in Christ, we, the Transforming Hope team, strive to provide the opportunity for this freedom to those enslaved in human trafficking.
On July 4, 2012 Transforming Hope's first safe home, Emma's Home, opened in central North Carolina.
We strive to educate the general public on the issue of domestic minor sex trafficking. We work with children and families in the community to prevent domestic minor sex trafficking. We help to restore the lives of girls (and their families) who have been lured into domestic minor sex trafficking.
