Here are five recommendations by human trafficking survivors to the United States Advisory Council on Human Trafficking.
UJEOPAD was founded in 2009 with a vision of sustainable peace in the DRC. Its main objectives are to ensure the protection of vulnerable people, including conflict victims and people facing other social inequalities, and to help realize the Millennium Development Goals through the preservation of DRC’s fauna and flora, the management and transformation of conflicts and the promotion of non-violence through peace education. UJEOPAD’s main activities center on the protection of children and civilians, the prevention of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and assistance to SGBV victims. UJEOPAD works with children and youth from 10 to 29 years of age and focuses its activities at the family, school and community levels. Programs include peace education against the use of girls as sex workers in bars and the resolution of land conflicts.
